Sports, Leisure and Community

ASAP Architects have been involved in the design and construction of several projects in the field of sport, leisure and community.

We work closely with clients and sports club representatives to achieve the best possible results in terms of client wishes and a pleasing environment.

Examples of recent projects include a new pavilion for a cricket club, a new swimming pool and gym complex for a private residence and new stables for a private client.

We have been involved for some time in the design of a new pavilion for a multi sports club, and are now employed in a consultant capacity to vet the developing scheme on behalf of the sports club. This has become part of a much larger scheme, incorporating a by-pass, as facilitating work for one of the major supermarkets.

With a diverse range of sporting interests and expertise to draw on, we can be a real team player on your project.

ASAP Architects have also worked closely with a large number of community organisations including Parish and Church Councils.

St Barnabas Community Centre, Danesmoor     A new build facility offering meeting rooms, a community hall, coffee bar and adjoining kitchen, together with a baby care and day nursery, offices, reception and toilet accommodation.

Alderwasley Village Hall     A converted 13th century chapel, used since 1980 as a village hall, suffers from damp and wet penetration, toilet and kitchen facilities that are in poor condition, no mains water supply and an inadequate heating system. Proposals include a new and enlarged toilet and kitchen accommodation, a galleried storage facility, a water supply from a rainwater collection system, re-plastering with natural hydraulic lime mortar and the installation of an under floor heating system, supplied by a ground source heat pump, utilising three 100 metre bore holes.

The Little School Barlborough     Involving the conservation and repair of an existing stone building, including the creation of a coffee bar facility, new electrical and lighting system, a stage for community presentations and the overall refurbishment, repair and redecoration of the interior. Our work extended outside to include an adjacent ‘pocket park’.

The United Church of All Saints Stanley Common     A community led project involving the local Methodist and Anglican churches and with the assistance of a Biffa environmental grant, including the extension and refurbishment of their church, providing an acoustically separated large meeting room, kitchen and counter facility, disabled toilet and store.
